Hey River!

My prayer is that God is meeting you exactly where you’re at today—that in the chaos and the calm, He is tapping you on the shoulder to remind you that He’s real, He’s here, and He’s not going anywhere.

“But a time is coming and is already here when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit [from the heart, the inner self] and in truth; for the Father seeks such people to be His worshipers. God is spirit [the Source of life, yet invisible to mankind], and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24 AMP

Worship means we hold back nothing, and that requires faith—the faith that in every season God is going to turn the bitter into sweet, that He does (as a fact) make all things work together for the good of those who love Him. That means letting go of any sense of entitlement we feel as humans, those very natural and very real emotions that can stand in the way of making more room for Him in our lives.

Don’t withhold anything.

Give over all of your “rights” to Him—

Your right to understand,

Your right to your sense of pride,

Your right to be angry,

Your right to bitterness,

Your right to withhold your desires and disappointments from Him,

Your right to limit how far God wants to take you in this season.

All of these are strongholds that seem reasonable and expected as a result of our circumstances—they blind us to truth. So we give everything—every emotion, every right, every desire and doubt—over to the One who can and will use anything.

To live a life of worship we have to prepare ourselves to give up anything we feel we own the rights to—and the incredible reward is that our vision clears up. Suddenly, we can think, speak, act, and pray more like Jesus because we let Him have more of our hearts. As I was falling asleep last night, I felt so grateful that we have a God who so desires us that He’ll set up a moment to meet with you and give you revelation and truth in even the most random, seemingly small moments. He is too wonderful to me!
