Fellow and Future Disciples,

I loved hearing about Peter on Sunday. He was so passionate for the Lord, eager to serve, passionate about Jesus was doing around him, willing to jump in at a moment’s notice, surrender himself, make mistakes, and let God take use him in amazing ways. As we learned, Peter had an understanding that Jesus was the Christ, and Son of the Living God. The Holy Spirit revealed this to Peter. And the Holy Spirit has revealed it to us. But we must continue in that understanding and apply it in our lives. We saw Peter make a fool of himself numerous times while trying to figure out God’s will. It’s OK for us to do the same, because God wants our hearts. Jesus was fully human, yet he didn’t make mistakes. He was in lockstep with the Father, always in-tune with the Father’s plan. Jesus is our perfect example. As we surrender our everything to God, keeping our eyes, ears, and hearts focused on Him, we won’t have to wonder and worry about God’s plan for our lives, we’ll already be living it! And those mistakes we make along the way? God will use those too!
