The Apple Doesn't Fall Far From the Tree
Hey Church,
Pastor shared how there is a face behind the clouds, and that God's love is evident everywhere. Depending on your perspective, that love is either hard to see, or hard to miss. But no matter who we are, we've experienced love at some point. And the love of God is often shown through His people, through us. God's love was proven to us by the life of Christ, and the shedding of His blood, and by all of His goodness. God loves like a father, a friend, a brother, a bride but on a level deeper than all of these combined. And because of God's love, and His Holy Spirit empowering us, we can display that love to the world. God can use us, flaws and all, to be used for His glory.
So, we need to do our best to show the world what God's love looks like. Of course we'll make mistakes, but a righteous man falls 7 times. The world doesn't need us to be perfect, it needs us to be real, and to point to Christ, and give Him all glory! Does our fruit taste Good? Is it evident that it's rooted in God and His love? Is the taste instantly recognizable?
John 13:35 - "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Ephesians 4: 1-3 - "As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."
Matthew 7:16-20 - "By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them."
